Sewer Flushing Emerson
SEWER FLUSHING-EMERSON
There will be sewer flushing taking place as part of the sewer renewal construction project as follows:
Emerson - Along Dominion Street Between 3rd Street and 1st Street
On Wednesday March 19th, 2025 between the hours of 8am and 8pm
IT IS RECOMMNEDED THAT THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS BE TAKEN:
In some cases where your vent might be plugged or the main lines are extremely dirty, water may blow out through toilets during cleaning operations, so would you please take some plastic and cover your toilet bowl (under the lid).
Put the plugs in your sinks and bathtubs and also in your basement sinks and tubs.
If you have a floor trap in the basement, it would be wise to put a piece of plastic under the cover and put something heavy on it.
After the flushing is finished and if you experience an odor in the house, run a bit of water in every sink that has a trap in it, flush the toilet, put some water into the floor trap in the basement and open the windows for a short period. The odor should disappear.
We encourage you to follow the above precautions in order to eliminate unnecessary cleanup which could occur.
