MOSQUITO FOGGING NOTICE

The Municipality of Emerson-Franklin would like to advise the public that it plans to undertake a control program for adult mosquitoes, through ultra low volume (ULV) fogging for the following special events. Fogging will only take place when mosquito tolerance levels have been surpassed and weather permitting. Dominion City - RCHP Thursday July 2nd, weather date Friday July 3rd Between 10 pm and 7 am Emerson Park Monday June 29th, weather date Tuesday June 30th Between 10 pm and 7 am The fogging program excludes private property and will be carried out along roadways, parks, campgrounds, golf courses. Health Canada has concluded that the use of this product, for adult mosquito control in residential areas using ultra-low-volume application, will not pose a health concern. People who wish to further reduce their exposure to this pesticide can take additional precautions in accordance with the public health fact sheet for the use of DeltaGard 20EW. (www.gov.mb.ca/health/publichealth/factsheet/deltaguard.pdf) Property owners NOT wanting insecticides applied on or adjacent to their principal residence may register a buffer zone with the Municipal Office. A buffer zone of 90 meters on either side of the objector's property in the front, side and rear street or lane will be established in which fogging equipment will be turned off.
